Garlic and Butter Flatbread Recipe
Indulge in the delightful simplicity of homemade garlic and butter flatbread, a perfect companion for any meal or a satisfying snack on its own. This recipe yields a soft, chewy flatbread infused with the rich flavours of garlic and the lusciousness of butter.
Ingredients:
- 250g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 150ml warm water
- 50g unsalted butter
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Method:
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the plain flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add warm water, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for a few minutes until smooth, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
-
While the dough rests, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant but not browned. Remove from the heat and set aside.
-
Once the dough has rested, divide it into equal portions and roll each portion into a flat disc, approximately 5mm thick.
-
Heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and puffed up.
- As soon as the flatbreads are cooked, brush them generously with the garlic butter and sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
Serve warm, and watch them disappear almost instantly! Perfect alongside soups, salads, or as a base for tasty toppings, these garlic and butter flatbreads will surely become a favourite in your household.
