The recipe calls for leeks, and you find yourself at the shop. Unfortunately, they only sell them in pairs, and you only need one. So, what do you do with the spare? Enter crispy fried leeks—a quick and easy treat. In just 20 minutes, you can whip up these crunchy delights.

Start by preheating your air fryer. Carefully cut off the green tops and slice off the stem to prepare the leeks. You’ll notice the beautiful layers inside—remove the centre part to make slicing easier. Flatten them out on your cutting board and slice as thinly as possible. Toss the slices in a bowl with just a drizzle of olive oil—just enough to coat the edges without being overly oily.

Batch by batch, place them in the air fryer set to 220 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. When they emerge, they’ll be golden and crispy, perfect as a garnish on salads, a topping for soups, or nestled between the layers of a classic BLT. Enjoy the versatility of your leftover leek in this delightful twist!
