    Falafel has long been a beloved staple in Middle Eastern cuisine, combining the earthy flavours of chickpeas with aromatic spices. This Easy Air Fryer Falafel recipe is not only straightforward but also delivers that crispy exterior and soft, herby interior we all crave.

    Ingredients:

    • 400g canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
    • 1 small onion, roughly chopped
    • 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • A small bunch of fresh parsley, roughly chopped
    • A small bunch of fresh coriander, roughly chopped
    • 1 tsp ground cumin
    • 1 tsp ground coriander
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • Olive oil spray

    Instructions:

    1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, and coriander. Blend until the mixture is coarse but holds together.
    2. Add the spices, baking powder, salt, and pepper, and pulse a few more times to combine.
    3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
    4. Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Shape the chilled mixture into small balls or patties.
    5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil, then arrange the falafel in a single layer. Spray the tops with a little oil as well.
    6. Cook for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
