• Apple Turnovers Made Easy in the Air Fryer

If you’re in the mood for a delightful treat that's both quick and satisfying, look no further than these air-fried apple turnovers. They’re beautifully golden and flaky, packed with sweet, spiced apples, and incredibly easy to make with just a few ingredients.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
    • 50g sugar (adjust according to taste)
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry
    • 1 egg (for egg wash)
    • A sprinkle of icing sugar (for serving)

    Method:

    1. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated. Allow this mixture to sit for about 10 minutes, letting the flavours meld together.

    2. Roll Out the Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry until it’s about 3mm thick. Cut it into squares, approximately 10cm by 10cm.

    3. Assemble the Turnovers: Place a spoonful of the apple filling in the centre of each pastry square. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and press the edges together to seal, crimping with a fork for a decorative finish.

    4. Air Frying: Preheat your air fryer to 180°C. Brush each turnover with a beaten egg to give them that lovely golden sheen. Arrange the turnovers in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches) and cook for about 12-15 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.

    5. Serve and Enjoy: Once cooked, allow them to cool slightly before dusting with icing sugar. These air-fried apple turnovers are perfect served warm, perhaps with a dollop of cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

With minimal fuss and maximum flavour, these apple turnovers are sure to impress, bringing a taste of homemade goodness into your kitchen in no time at all!
